Where is the Guesthouse?
Just about 90 minutes to everywhere!

Located in Grahamstown (the original precinct of Thames) on the southwestern end of the Coromandel Peninsula, the Guesthouse is in close proximity to the local shopping mall and retail outlets, cafes, bars and restaurants.

An easy 1.5 hour drive to all the major centres of Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga as well as the attractions of the eastern Coromandel Peninsula, nothing else could be easier!

What you can do
Spoilt for choice – so little time.

With a history steeped in tales of miners, pioneers and a few good old fashioned shoot outs, Thames is the home of one of the New Zealand’s most well kept secrets (the Kauaeranga Valley) along with many well-known attractions filled with memorabilia, treasures and memories of old, all lovingly restored and maintained for your exploration, learning and pleasure.

But it’s not just for those with a passion for history. Thames is also central to all the natural wonders of the wider Coromandel. Experience the power and majesty of the Coromandel Ranges, take a stroll to the top of Castle Rock or challenge your fitness with a day hike up the Pinnacles. Ride the new mountain and bike trails,  meander through the east coast towns and local artist studios or taste the fresh seasonal seafood as close to the point of harvest as you can get.

Or, if you really want to explore your limits – book a day of extreme adventure with the Canyoning NZ crew to find out how adventurous you really are!!
